Beginning July 18th, 2024, if you are a Nebraskan and have completed your felony sentence, you can register to vote immediately after you are “off paper”– meaning you have completed your term of incarceration, probation, supervised release, or parole and have satisfied any other requirements from the court and remained conviction-free.
To verify your eligibility to vote, contact the Clerk of the District Court where your sentence was given.
The registration deadline for the Nov. 5, 2024, general election is Oct. 25.

All you need is your Nebraska driver’s license or
state-issued identification card.
You can vote early by mail, early in person at your county’s election commission office, or cast your ballot in person at your designated polling place on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, General Election Day.

You must be a citizen of the United States.
You must live in Nebraska. This includes self-supporting students who regard the location of their school as their home, and military members living on a post with no intent to return to their former place of residence
You must be 18 years old on or before Nov. 5, 2024
You must have not been convicted of treason under Nebraska or federal law, unless a court has restored your right to vote
If you were convicted of a felony, you must have completed your sentence (including probation or parole), and -
You must not be subject to a court order of mental incompetency (an adult under a guardianship order can still vote unless a court order states otherwise)
